Duties
* Fault Find and Repair on Steam Turbines and Generators
* Work Australia Wide on Planned Preventative Maintenance Programmes
* Project Manage Large Install and Commissioning Works on Client Sites
* Train Client Staff on Turbine/Generator Usage

Senior Construction Manager - Logistics - Steel Frame

Senior Construction Manager required to work for a large established main contractor within logisitics on a large £300m mixed use development.

Candidates will need to have a proven history as a No.1 on large mixed use projects ideally working with reputable companies for long durations.

It is essential that the candidate has steel frame experience and ideally Pre construction through to delivery experience.

Major Responsibilities

1. Ensure that Contractors perform their obligations under the contract in a fully co-ordinated approach by ensuring good communication and planning, and by providing required common resources. Chair regular logistic co-ordination meetings and ensure that minutes are prepared and promptly distributed.

2. Discharge responsibilities for Health and Safety as set out in the Health Safety and Welfare manual also the Construction Health and Safety Plan both in respect of the package and integration of the overall project.

3. Ensure that all Contractors are fully briefed on site protocol and logistics procedures. Constantly evaluate the effectiveness of all logistics functions to ensure the efficient delivery of materials and manpower to the workplace and the security of the project site.

4. Carry out regular audits of the site logistics to review the standards of access and cleanliness which are required for the safe and efficient operation of the project.

5. Review all Contractors method statements with regards to logistics requirements.

6. Discharge responsibilities for Health and Safety as set out in the Health Safety and Welfare Manual and the Construction Health and Safety Plan.

7. Attend Contractors progress meetings where applicable.

8. Manage a team of Logistics Managers and ensure that they are individually briefed on their duties and performance expectations. Continually assess the adequacy of this team to manage the construction effort.

9. Liaise with Project Managers to carry out regular site inspections of all aspects of the work in progress.

10. Maintain a detailed written record of individual Contractor's daily progress including deliveries and plant usage.

11. Oversee the establishment of temporary site facilities.

12. In consultation with the Senior Project Manager and Senior Construction Manager develop strategies for the supply of temporary utilities, hoists, and cranes. Ensure that these resources are effectively managed for the safe and efficient operations of the project.

13. Ensure the proper supply and management of welfare facilities for safe and efficient operations of the project.

14. Ensure good environmental practice on site, in line with the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

15. Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Senior Project Manager.

16. To implement and enforce the use of PP-16 Logistics and Security Rev.8.

17. The monitoring and implementation of LBTH (or other local authorities) section 61 agreement for noise.

18. To manage all logistics activities on the project including Security, Construction vehicular and pedestrian access and co-ordinate crane and hoist requirements.

All staff are required to comply with CWG Quality Management System requirements detailed within Company Quality Manual, Policies and to ensure that all Procedures; Plans and Forms within InfoBase are effectively implemented to meet the set ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management Standard.

It is essential that candidates have a stable employment history with a proven track record on similar projects for this Senior Construction Manager role.

It is also essential that candidates have up to date CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid.

Design Manager / Technical Manager - Fit Out - London

Design Manager / Technical Manager required to work for an established main contractor on a fit out project within a £300m mixed use development in Central London. The role will be site based managing the design team alongside a full site team including management responsibilities.

Candidates will ideally be from a site based background and have experience on similar projects for similar companies with an in depth knowledge of both fit out packages to high spec finishes and also experience from pre construction stages through to delievery.

Person Specification

1. The successful candidate will have proven abilities in architectural design and is likely to have design experience within fast-track construction.

2. A background in architecture together with experience in dealing with Architects and other Design Consultants is preferable.

3. To be fully familiar with the integration of all design disciplines in order to assist with coordination of interfaces between packages, and assist with processing of technical queries and requests for information raised by contractors.

4. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate self management initiative, and the ability to think analytically.

5. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and organisation skills are essential.

6. Intermediate IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages, particularly Word, Excel, Power Point; good numeric skills are essential.

7. Experienced in Document management software - experience of BIW software is highly desirable.

8. Excellent inter-personal skills, the ability to build relationships and influence decision-making is essential.

9. The ideal candidate will be fully conversant in CDM regulations, as they apply to fast-track high rise construction. It is essential that the post holder be competent in assessing and commenting on the adequacy of Method Statements and Risk Assessments.

10. Commitment to continuing professional development within Architectural Design discipline is essential
