Leading global engineering consultancy seeks an ambitious sustainability professional to join them in a Senior Consultant capacity within their London buildings group where the successful applicant would be responsible for managing and undertaking a wide variety of projects including BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes and for engaging with other specialist disciplines for support works

Contaminated Land Consultant

Contaminated Land Consultant: based in London with occassional short periods overseas, we require a geoenvironmental / contaminated land specialist with between 2 and 5 years post-graduate experience with a UK Engineering Consultancy.

The position involves carrying out combined geotechnical / geoenvironmental investigations of land prior to redevelopment from Phase 1 desk based assessments through investigation and risk assessment to remediation and verification.

Supported by Senior members of the team, duties include periods on site supervising and directing investigation work and observing specialist contractor's remediation work; office-based work comprising data review; risk assessment (qualitative and quantitative) and reporting. The work also includes meetings with clients, regulators and other members of the engineering design team.

Requirements:

Required - B.Sc in a relevant scientific discipline.
Desirable - M.Sc in contaminated land or environmental management. (where contaminated land forms a substantial element)
Required - Full UK drivers licence.

It is desirable that the geoenvironmental / contaminated land specialist will have experience in detailed quantitative risk assessment for human health and/ or groundwater.

Senior Geo-environmental Consultant required to join our Land Restoration and Ground Engineering (LRaGE) team of a global Multi-disciplinary Consultancy in Hampshire.

Geo-environmental Consultants would be expected to technically and financially manage and deliver projects through from initial quotation to issue of reports, particularly in the areas of geo-environmental site investigation and assessment, remediation and reclamation design, contract management, design implementation and validation. The ability to rapidly assimilate site data and provide robust, pragmatic advice pertinent to the clients' needs is crucial.

Geo-environmental Consultants will be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and dynamic with excellent verbal and written communication ability together with the following key skills:

Managing and supervising Phase 1 and 2 investigations including soil and rock logging, soil and groundwater sampling and in-situ testing.
Interpretative report writing including undertaking human health risk and groundwater assessment utilising CLEA, ConSim, RBCA, SNIFFER, BP RISC and EA Remedial Targets for Hydrogeological Risk Assessment.
Contaminated land remedial works - outline design and specification.
Preparation of detailed design of contaminated land earthworks and remediation schemes.
Experienced project manager able to lead technical project teams;
Good client facing skills are essential.
A solid understanding of the planning regime and legislation is desirable
At least a BSc in a relevant Environmental Discipline, preferably geology or chemistry and MSc in related subject an advantage.

We have a requirement for a Quantity Surveyor to work on site for a project in Barcombe East Sussex. The grade required is post graduate and pre chartership. The desired candiadte will have strong NEC3 experience across infrastructure projects.

The main function would be to assist the PM and Supervisor to administer an NEC3 contract for water treatment works and activated sludge. The contract would run for approx. 10 months.
