Piping Engineers - OIL & GAS ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY:

MECHANICAL PIPING ENGINEER:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the Piping engineering and design team, providing technical and administrative leadership to the respective discipline personnel engaged on a variety project and must have experience of multi-discipline projects.

Responsible for leading a piping team in both FEED & Detail Design on projects performing engineering & checking functions.

Responsible for manhour estimating, performance monitoring

Co-ordination and produce the required discipline deliverables (specs, data sheets, schedules etc.) to the required programme and quality standard.

Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising with members of other disciplines and departments, Clients and sub-contractors.

Apply an awareness and willingness to work as a team member.

Quality Assurance - work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.

A substantial experience applicable to piping engineering, layout and design is required.

PIPELINE ENGINEER:

The Engineer shall have the ability to assess that the design of piping systems on the project, are in accordance with Industry Design Codes, using PC based stress programs, manual calculations and experience. The Engineer shall have adequate experience to adopt a practical approach to pipe design and stress problems and be familiar with the requirements/interactions of other engineering disciplines. He must have working knowledge in the checking of piping drawings, preparation of piping specifications and data sheets, constructability reviews and EPC supervision.

Review, approval and implementation of Piping engineering including pipe stress work as per international standards.

Maintaining design integrity and quality within the asset team.

Appraisal, training and development of personnel.

Promoting health, safety and environmental awareness.

Quality Assurance Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.

Safety Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Experience Required:

Anticipated a minimum of 10 years + experience specifically in Pipeline Engineering.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

A background / knowledge in pipeline layouts and pipeline design procedures.

Knowledge of Industry Piping Codes.

Experience in pipeline engineering including pipe wall thickness calculations, branch connection reinforcement check and equipment nozzle load calculations.

Experience in piping stress analysis and manual calculation methods, pipe support selection and design input.

Substantial experience in the Oil & Gas industry and/or Petrochemical Industry.

Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrated performance as a team leader is preferred.

Dynamic and enthusiastic approach is essential

The Contract Administrator will provide contractual support and guidance to the Client and will perform Early Warning and Compensation Event entitlement review, review all correspondence and ensure that all contractual aspects of the contract are managed in accordance with the agreed Terms and Conditions. The Contract Administrator will functionally report to the Line Manager and ultimately to the Manager of Contracts and Procurement.

Principal accountabilities:

Administration of contracts with different complexity, confirming the compliance of the contractors / consultants to the contract terms and conditions; Ensuring the bids, evaluation of proposals, negotiation and award of contracts are performed in accordance with the contract procedures and EU Procurement Rules;

Prepare bid tabulations justifying the choice of one bidder to another documented with the all the needed signatures;

Ensuring that the contractors / consultants provide adequate insurance that complies with the regulations and the scope of work;

Managing any / all changes to the contract scope, cost, schedule, and quality of the project, through Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events;

Managing and tracking of all the invoices and payments made, ensuring compliance to the requirements of the contract;

Establishing an adequate records management system so that the project team uses it to furnish a written record of project execution;

Ensuring that any additional work / change to the original scope is properly authorised in advance before issuing a change orders;

Ensuring that the work done by the contractor / consultant is in compliance to the accepted contract programme;

Ensuring that all contractors / consultants are in compliance with all applicable laws, codes, and other requirements (depending on the specifics of the project);

Qualifications and experience:

Experience in Contract Management with specific experience working with the NEC3 forms of contract. Experience to include managing change management, contractual disputes, correspondence and financial close out of contracts; any nuclear experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

Prepares or oversees the preparation of engineering execution plans in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.

Participates in the procurement process for contractors consultants as required.

Assists the Engineering Manager in the application and administering of engineering processes and procedures in order to maintain quality and control of engineering work product.

Coordinates with Clients management and operational representatives as delegated to obtain their approval on phases of work.

Works closely with construction personnel on the project site to monitor quality and progress, and evaluate and resolve issues that may arise during the implementation phase.

Promotes the creation of a work environment, supported by leadership, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Ensures consultant and contractors requirements from engineering processes and procedures are included in contracts.

Skills / Experience Required

Senior Planner with experience in the engineering and construction of at least 2 large infrastructure projects, preferably Nuclear.

Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods.

Knowledge of precedents in the discipline and of principles and practices of related disciplines.

Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved.

Knowledge of industry /regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria pertinent to the particular discipline.

Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication including technical writing.

Demonstrated skill in leadership.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, open-minded with an energetic and proactive personal style.

Experience in complex stakeholder management and negotiation.

Lean six sigma or equivalent skills.

Working knowledge of basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and business planning software is a requirement.

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture of Construction Management.

The position of Energy Manager has been identified, based out of central Birmingham, focused to one large account with a view to identify, develop and implement new energy related opportunities.

Typical key responsibilities will include;

Promote energy efficiency and provide advice and support

Develop and manage the corporate energy policy and strategy to achieve energy reduction targets

Undertake energy surveys and A/C Inspections

Develop and implement strategic briefs for design guides/standards to meet the client objectives

Provide full feasibility studies of costed initiatives / projects to reduce energy usage

Project management and implementation of initiatives.

Provide monitoring and verification through the full cycle of the project to achieve cost efficiency energy reduction solutions.

Understand Utility supply trading arrangements

Analyse Utility profiles and benchmark against known data.

The successful candidate should be a holder of an energy related qualification or building services equivalent that ideally will be of degree standard together with a track record spanning a minimum of 5 years in an energy management capacity.

Strong technical knowledge is essential, able to contribute at all stages of the a project, that could include A/C inspection, M&T software, principles of HVAC, refrigeration & lighting, BMS and the ability to carry out full energy surveys and feasibility studies of energy technologies.
